Oscar Albartus Janes. Born in Rock County, Wisconsin, 1843. Came to Michigan in 1863 to attend Hillsdale College; attended 2 months and enlisted in 4th Mich. Inf. After discharge from Army he returned to college, graduating in 1868. He was admitted to the bar in 1872.
